Under the İstanbul Seismic Risk Mitigation and Emergency Preparedness Project (İSMEP), Göztepe Training and Research Hospital was reconstructed and named Prof. Dr. Süleyman Yalçın City Hospital. The hospital building was designed using seismic isolators in line with smart and green building criteria so that it will be earthquake-resistant and provide uninterrupted service at the time of earthquake.
As a step towards making İstanbul the Health Capital of the World, this hospital is planned to be renovated in two phases. In Phase 1, it was planned to have a total of 758 beds, 27 operation rooms, 96 intensive care unit beds and 175 outpatient clinics in a closed area of 180 thousand square meters. Phase 1 was completed and the hospital started to serve as of September 5, 2020.

In the Prof. Dr. Yalçın Hospital where 5 blocks were planned to be opened in phase 1, Fire Detection and Notification System and Card Pass System were designed with Siemens, while Emergency Announcement and Video Surveillance System were designed with Bosch.
Siemens Cerberus Pro FC726 control panels offer flexible planning ability in fire loops for large-scale and complex applications. The panels of up to 1512 addresses are grouped separately under each block to prevent any loss and redundancy is also provided by intercommunication among the panels over the network. In the system of approximately 10.000 points, the graphical screen software allows to monitor the addressable equipment and in case of an alarm from any point, the exact location of the related region and alarm point is automatically displayed in the alarm display.
SiPass Integrated is a card access system to which 96 readers can be connected and which has a high system capacity and can operate in integrated with some third-party software. In the project where about 700 card readers are used, in case of a fire, any door can be disabled depending on the scenario in order for all the systems to operate integrated under the roof software.
Nearly 1000 cameras were used in the hospital, where security was given the highest priority using Bosch cameras. In the project, IK10 cameras were preferred for possible attacks, while NDE-4502-A coded 2MP dome cameras were positioned in the public areas. The camera with IP66 protection class against water and dust comes with Essential Video Analytics. NDE-5503-A coded cameras with 5MP resolution are used in the high-security areas such as emergency service to capture more details in both dark and bright areas. With 9 2MP PTZ cameras located outdoor, the image can be zoomed 30x up to 190 m and the security level can be increased with the follow-up ability in possible cases. With 2MP NBE-4502-AL cameras, all the parking areas can be monitored via internal infrared LEDs both night and day.
Thanks to its modular structure and redundancy, Bosch Praesedio Emergency Announcement System meets all the requirements for such scaled projects requiring integration. With regions designed according to the fire compartments, just after a fire alarm is confirmed, an evacuation announcement can be made to the related region, while different announcements can be made to other regions.
In addition to all these systems, another essential system for hospitals is central time. The corridors, nurse desks and operation rooms were equipped with Bodet analog and digital clocks that is one of the leading brands in the sector. They can be also adjusted over the master clock thanks to the IP structure.
IPTV system used for enhanced comfort was designed centrally with Alcad brand and 3 different dish antennas were placed on the roof.
Genetec software allows to quickly activate the Emergency Announcement System and deactivate the Card Access System in the event of a fire, as well as to use the Video Surveillance System effectively in case of emerging risks and threats. Thanks to this software, all these systems can run more effectively and quickly under a single roof.
